15 Seconds. Really. I Promise.

This weekend has been super busy.  I feel like I haven't gotten a moment to sit still.  Literally. 

But I found a quick 15 seconds for a quick Princess dress. 

Seriously, it was literally 15 seconds. 

I had found this Disney Princess pre-shirred fabric. 

Being pre-shirred, it meant that I only needed , like, 12 inches of it. 

And the even better part about this fabric -it was already hemmed.

So, it literally meant that I only had to line it up (2 seconds) and a simple stitch up the back seam. 

And that, my dears, took all of 13 seconds.

For play clothes, you can't go wrong with that.  And Miss AuBrynne LOVES it.

Its the go-to dress up play piece.

Geometry for School Clothes

This little number was SO easy! Believe it or not, it's based on something I had doodled during my geometry class, WAY back in the tenth grade... Wouldn't my teacher be so happy to know that... Anyways, it was a lesson on circles and circumferance and diameter etc.  Anyways, Mrs. Wilson would be so happy to know I apply her lessons, daily. 

I little Love from an old T-shirt

I had this old red t-shirt.  It was a good one and it served valiantly until it was time to be retired for re-purposing. 

I had a few scraps of some fun knit prints. It worked out perfect for play clothes. 

AuBrynne loves to wear this one because it is already so soft and broken in.

 This one was pretty simple:

Cut off the bottom 5 inches and add a gather.

Cut bodice down to correct size.

Cut off sleeves.

Assemble the heart applique and sew to bodice.

Ruffle a long piece of sheer fabric and sew on in the shape of a heart.

Attach new pink sleeves.

Sew up sides of bodice and sleeves.

Attach bottom ruffle.

If the neck is too large, stitch with elastic thread in your bobbin around the neck line.

I Love T-shirt Donations!

My lovely Aunt Shelley dropped off a good amount of clothes for me to go through before they go to Goodwill. One of the first things I found to play with was this t-shirt:

I cut off the sleeves, neck line and the back yolk area. Then added some elastic bobbin into my machine for the mid-section. Then I turned the raw edges over and cover stitched. This cute one will grow with her for a while. She likes it a lot. Now if the weather would cooperate...

Momma's Shirt Refashioned to Baby's Dress

AuBrynne loves to wear my shirts.  I have mentioned this before.  If given the chance, she will take one of my shirts and wear it and FIGHT me to get it off to wash it.  So, I like to make her dresses out of my shirts that I have retired. 
This is one of those t-shirt refashions. This is the original:

It was barely long enough to hit the very top of my not-so-mom jeans.  So, it had to go... to the baby.  I think it was a good refashion.  She loves to wear this one.  It was done by adding elastic thread to the bobbin of my sewing machine.  Then steaming it with the iron.  The outcome is a very soft and toddler approved wearable dress.
