Making It With Allie - Honey Drops

Hello friends!
I can not believe it is Thursday again!
Time sure flies!
But I am glad to be able to have another inspiring Making It With Allie Link Party!!
This week, I am going to share with you all my FAVORITE cookie recipe.

It's a honey cookie that we call Honey Drops.
They are super easy to eat make...
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
1.5 cups shortening
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
4 cups flour
3 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
3 tsp cinnamon
half tsp salt
more sure and cinnamon for rolling

Cream shortening and sugar till pale and fluffy. Add Eggs.
Add dry ingredients.
When all is WELL combined, roll  into balls.
Roll each ball in a cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Put on a cookie sheet and bake for 8-9 minutes.
DO NOT OVER-BAKE. It happens fast...
When you remove them from the oven -this is the key -DROP the cookie sheet onto the counter.
It flattens the cookies. Otherwise, they will stay puffy and wont have a good chewy center and crisp shell.
After 5 minutes or so, you will be able to remove the cookies from the sheet.
I usually place mine onto wax paper to cool the rest of the way.
They keep well in an air-tight container.

Because it is this fabulous holiday season, AuBrynne and our friends Ashley and T(Taylor) and Chase and I baked 21 dozen of these yesterday.
The plan is to give them away to family, friends and teachers.
These cookies stack perfectly in Pringles containers.
(Clean them out first)

We decorated the ones going to AuBrynne's teachers with holiday paper and ribbon.
They turned out pretty cute!

  1. The cookies look delicious and those Pringles containers?! So clever! Wish I had saved mine (or I just need to buy more Pringles...it's a sacrifice in the name of crafts that I'm willing to take).

  11. I love the decorated pringle jars! They're so so lovely. :) I don't buy pringles 'cause they're so darn expensive here, so i'll have to use ordinary cans for this, but it would look equally cute! (just with less cookies or treats in it) :)
